The Constant Gardener
I really recommend you to watch this movie “The Constant Gardener”. Before I was interested in the movie, I thought it’s just a love story, by reading some comments from the people who have watched. However, some of my friends really push this movie so I felt like watching it. And after I watch it, I was so moved and wanted to talk about it with someone who had any ideas toward the movie. Therefore I interviewed with my friend Emi who recommended me to watch the movie (and of course she has already watched).
She was attracted the movie because of the director at first. The director Fernando Meirelles is very famous of the movie “City of God”. Besides, she was told by her friend that the heroine and her way to live looked like her. So she got a strong motivation to watch the movie. “When people feel something like themselves, they want to do something very much, I think” she said.Emi could lap herself over the heroine’s behavior, for example
she had a strong belief and went forward even if the people around her
couldn’t understand her. Emi gave me a message at last. “I wasn’t shocked
when I heard the terrible story of pharmaceutical companies and the FOC,
because I knew it. I’m afraid if many audiences don’t believe the story or
treat it just a movie. I really want people to know the fact in today’s
world.”
I also support her opinion. We live in Japan without any difficulties. But
we should know what’s going on in real world. It’s not someone’s tragedy.
